This particular compilation was produced in 2003. This was obviously during a simpler time and radio was still a more or less dominant means of broadcast communication. Most years that I was aware of it KKCW was the station though at least a couple years KKRZ and at least once KWJJ had it. The idea was you'd tune your boombox or earphones to the given frequency at the appointed time and listen to the music programme as the fireworks were going off. From the mid-1980s until the early 2010s various stations transmitting across the border from Portland provided a commercial-free, patriotic musical accompaniment for the July 4 fireworks programme at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Area park.
